Dirty Little Secrets

I thought it was time to clear the air with my dirty little secrets. Little things I am sneaking about or try to hide. Brace yourself....(don't worry, it's not bad!)
1. Hiding dirty dishes in the oven when company is coming over, so they think I have a routinely clean kitchen.
2. Leaving towels or laundry in the dryer for a week so I don't have to fold them.
3. Spitting like a construction worker when I run.
4. Swearing.
5. Never flossing. It makes my gums bleed
6. My secret horde of cash I use for treats.
7. Eating some form of sweet or dessert every day!
8. Wearing bikinis
9. Gaining sick pleasure from popping blemishes or black heads
10. Giving animals kisses. Not the licking the face, tongue and drool every where, kind- just nice ones. I love animals!

What are your dirty little secrets?

A Big Weekend

On Friday, Brent and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. Yay!! We usually get each other expensive presents and plan something big but this year we were low key. I gave Brent Avatar on blue-ray and he gave me the Bath and Body Works I hinted about!! We went to Los Lupes on Saturday and ate some Mexican and that was it!! Boring, I know!! But it was nice.
Ella still feels like crap. Both of her top I teeth are cutting and are taking their sweet time! Her gums are so swollen and her poor mouth hurts so bad. She doesn't want to eat anything!! Her first week in nursery was last week and she did so good!! She loved it!! I am a little jealous of the nursery leader though. Ella isn't allowed to snuggle anyone but me!!

She has also decided they only way to go is naked. I have a nudist on my hands. If Daddy is in charge of bath time, he tends to wander away from vigilant tub watching, and all of a sudden I will have a naked tub-fugitive streaking through my living room!

These are her new tub letters and she loves them!!! She now knows: A, B, H, 2, and 8. She knows 6 body parts and can do itsy bitsy spider. She loves to read books and we do a hundred times a day!!

Mother's Day was wonderful! I had breakfast in bed and BBQ for dinner. Brent gave me Clinique make up. Also strongly hinted for! :) I took some time to reflect on motherhood and decided that I wouldn't trade Ella for anything in the world. She is so sweet, and smart and beautiful. I love her so much. I would, however, trade her tantrums for the cheapest amount offered me! I would give them away for free!!

A Vampire Got Me

And no I don't mean Edward!! The clinic in Mesquite that I have to go to, is filled with lovely nurses and doctors. They have 2 nurses specifically for blood drawing. They all know me there, because I am around so often, so they know all about my idiosyncrasies.
Unfortunately they got a new 'vampire'. She was very kind and very professional. But she didn't believe me when I told her my veins have an in tendency to collapse in my left arm. Yep! That horrible bruise is from a routine blood draw! It left a lump the size of a golf ball for 2 days. Hopefully new vampire is on my right hand side next time!!
It doesn't help that I bruise like a peach!!
*Just incase: sucker is about 3 inches long by 2 inches wide. I tell everyone Brent beats me... : )

Speaking of Icky...

This is Icky the cat. She belongs to my mother and has a long and incredible story! I think it should be told!
Icky is 11 years old,and for those of you who are unfamiliar with the feline race, 11 years is OLD. Especially for an outside, alley cat!
Icky gets her name for several reasons.
1. She has cat allergies and always has goopy, red rimmed eyes.
2. She used to be REALLY skinny, due to her worm problem.
3. She has a fang that grows on the outside of her lip.
4. She has notches taken out of her ears from years of fighting.
5. She DROOLS. Like a pit bull!!

Icky was a mass producer of kittens. She would have at least 2 litters a year. Because of her worm problem making her skinny, and her red rimmed eyes, we always called her a crack hoe. It seemed fitting. Now Icky is a farm cat, and on the farm, if you become a nuisance, you are taken away somewhere and turned loose. In Icky's case, she was released into the wild somewhere near the Virgin River. My parents had thought they had seen the last of this fertile, drooling, fighter...but no!!
I decided to go and pick up some kittens from the animal shelter. The lady showing us the kitties was very nice and had animal lover written all over her. She asked if I would like to meet my kitties mother. Sure!! Why not!? They quickly rounded up all the other cats, telling me the mother was very hostile and was not to be around other cats. On the cage door was a picture of a red cat with an X drawn through it. I thought to myself, "What kind of monster is in there?"
They opened the door, and there was Icky!! In a mesquite animal shelter, when the last time I had seen her was in Overton!! I stood stunned, obvious disbelief on my face.
They told me,"She's so smart! She knows the name we gave her!Oh Lily!"
Lily.... Icky.... Strangely they sound alike!! Icky came running to me and instantly began to purr and drool. "Oh she loves you!" the nice lady exclaimed. I laughed awkwardly.
Well, it was $15 to adopt Icky. I paid for cat I had already once owned. Irony. I couldn't just leave her in that jail where I knew she was headed for the bad end of a cold needle! BUT, prison wasn't bad at all for Icky! In fact, it was like kitty day spa. They de-wormed her, making her fat again. They washed her, something we never did. Aren't cat supposed to bathe themselves? AND they had already fixed her!! Tada!! I figured my parents would be delighted to see their #1 mouse/rabbit/gopher/bird/lizard terrorizer. Especially now that she was fixed! And they were.
Icky had supplied the entire neighbor hood, possibly the valley with her offspring, kicked dog @$$ every day of the week, and killed pests for years. Big pests! She once dragged home part of coyote carcass!
So this is my ode to Icky! The crustiest, ugliest, fiercest kitty cat I know!! May you enjoy the last few lives you have left!
